Fun and Engaging Drama Classes for Children!
Llama Drama IOW is the Isle of Wight's newest and most exciting drama activity for children aged 19 months to 12 years old! Established in January of this year, we are already creating a buzz across the island, providing a fresh, fun and imaginative way for children to express themselves. Our weekly drama classes are designed to inspire creativity, develop social skills and, most of all, provide a space where kids can have fun!
Llama Drama IOW is run by a qualified primary school teacher with a deep passion for drama and the transformative power it holds. Our sessions are not about the pressure of perfecting performances but rather the joy of exploring, creating and growing. We believe that drama is more than just acting – it’s about developing confidence, imagination, teamwork and communication skills that will benefit children in all areas of their lives.
Our sessions are varied and full of energy, ensuring there’s something for every child to enjoy. Whether it’s improvisation, role-playing, drama games or storytelling, we focus on the journey rather than the destination. We encourage children to explore new worlds, dive into imaginative play and express themselves in a safe, supportive environment. While we do work on skills that help improve performance, such as projection, movement and character development, our emphasis is on having fun and enjoying the process.
At Llama Drama IOW, we believe in the power of collaboration and making friends. Our sessions are a chance for children to join forces, share ideas and create something special, whether that is by working in pairs, small groups or altogether. By learning through improv and interactive games, they get to build trust, support each other and grow their confidence in a low-pressure setting. Each week brings new challenges, new roles to play and new adventures to embark on.
